Overview

Anonymous Connections is a platform designed to facilitate discreet connections between consenting adults. Privacy is core to what we do — your real identity is never shown to other users.

This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how long we keep it, and your rights regarding that data.

How anonymous messaging works

When you send a message to another user, it is sent from a randomly generated email address (e.g. [email protected]) rather than your real address. The recipient never sees your real email or username.

When they reply to that anonymous address, the reply is automatically forwarded to your registered email — and their reply also comes from an anonymous address. Neither party ever sees the other's real contact details.

✓  Your real email address is never shared with other users under any circumstances.

Message metadata logging

For safety and abuse prevention, we log the following metadata when a message is sent:

What is logged: who sent the message (internal user ID), who received it (internal user ID), which anonymous address was used, and the message subject line.

What is NOT logged: the message body. Content is never stored in our database — it travels exclusively through the email relay.

Retention: All message logs are automatically and permanently deleted after 90 days. This deletion runs automatically every 24 hours.

⚠  Message metadata may be disclosed to law enforcement if required by a valid legal order.

Your rights

Access: You can view and update your account information at any time from your profile page.

Deletion: You can request full account deletion by contacting us. This removes your profile, all posts, and any associated data. Message log entries referencing your account are anonymised (user ID set to null) rather than blocking deletion.

Data portability: You can request a copy of your stored data (excluding message log metadata older than 90 days, which is auto-purged).

GDPR / CCPA: If you are located in the EU or California, you have additional rights including the right to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Third parties & advertising

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We do not display advertising. We do not use third-party tracking scripts, analytics services, or social media pixels.

The only external service involved in data processing is the email provider used for the anonymous relay (outbound SMTP delivery). The email provider may retain delivery logs per their own privacy policy.
